What is your favorite thing about being a quarterback? Game Day. I love the excitement of the game and the competition, and the feeling you get after throwing a touchdown pass or scoring a touchdown. I also think its fun to play my position because of the pressure that goes along with having the ball in your hands every play.
Do you have any pre-game or post-game rituals, if so what are they? Nothing I really swear by, but I usually make a new playlist on my iPod and listen to on the bus or during warm-ups. Just try to stay loose. After games I'm usually out with my family and friends eating and celebrating.
If I weren't a football player, I would of loved to be a ______ player because…? I would have loved to be a golfer because it's such a fun and challenging game. I would have also liked to be a sand volleyball player, I have friends that play in Miami and that sport is on the rise.
What are you doing this year to prepare for Division I? The same things we've always done. Lifting weights, running, and focusing on working to become a better football team. The thing that's different about this season is we know we only have ten games, so each game becomes that much more important. Even though we can't make the playoffs, it's nice to be the first D1 football team in school history and set the foundation for the future.
What is the worst injury you have ever seen or suffered while being an athlete? In high school a buddy of mine suffered a clean break of his arm. Other than that probably some of my teammates tearing their ACL's, because those can be devastating and take a while to come back from. As for me I separated my shoulder last year in the playoffs, it feels fine now but it still doesn't look right.
How has the transition to a new coach been and what do you think of the new recruiting class? The coaching change has gone smoothly. Many of our coaches have either played here or coached here for a while, which helps keep things familiar within the team. This year's recruiting class brings a lot of talent, and it will be exciting to see how fast they develop and contribute to the program.
What team are you looking forward to playing the most? UW-LaCrosse and Southern Illinois. I've got some good buddies that play for LaCrosse, and it's also where my dad played ball. And I'm also looking forward to playing SIU, we get to meet up with Coach Lennon again.
What is it like in the huddle? The huddle environment is one the best things about football, especially the huddles during games. It is always changing and some guys are more serious than others. Sometimes we are making fun of each other or coaches, laughing about a previous play, saying random things, etc. It'd be kind of funny if people could listen to what we say out there.
What is your favorite thing about being a quarterback and an offensive player? Our offense has been geared toward getting the ball out quickly and being very efficient. I've also been able to play with some pretty good football players. Playing quarterback is just as much mental as it is physical, and it definitely helps to prepare so you have a better opportunity to make good things happen.
If you had to live any where in the world for the rest of your life, where would it be and why? Dubai, the development over there is unbelievable. It just looks like a fun place to live, and it seems like there is a lot going on. If it wasn't fun there I'd go to Saskatchewan to hang out with Weston.
Would you rather have twice as many teeth or no teeth at all? Twice as many teeth, it'd be better for smiling and definitely better for eating. What super power would you like to have? Invisibility
If you could meet any celebrity, athlete or historic figure dead or alive, who would it be and why? I'd love to hang out with Tiger Woods. He's so talented and driven, and everyone fears him. It'd be interesting to see what he's like when he's not competing.
If the color gray had a smell what would it be and why? Burning charcoal
