Final game in momentous year
The Sioux have experienced many ups and downs this season.
A former NCC rival closes out UND's first step in DI and, after losing their last three matches, UND is vying for a win to finished with an over .500 record.
The Sioux take on the University of South Dakota Saturday at noon in Vermillion, S.D. to close out both their seasons.
Daniel Harkins has career night
On a night when Senior guard Daniel Harkins scored a career high 23 points going 10-18 from the field, the Sioux fell to Southwest Minnesota State 78-73. Harkins was able to get into the lane and finish all throughout the night.
The Sioux led for most of the first half stretching their lead to as big as eight.
Recession? What recession?
Yes, the stock market has been a roller coaster in recent months, treating IRAs and 401ks like ping-pong balls flying all over the table. Congress's approval ratings have been absolutely pathetic, and it seems like every other day a mortgage/lending/automobile company is being bailed out with taxpayer money.
Fighting Sioux hope to buck the trend
The men's hockey team will travel to Duluth to take on the Bulldogs.
After a bumpy 0-3 start, the common theme for the No. 20 UND Fighting Sioux men's hockey team has been series splits.
UND dropped their first two games and since then have split with Minnesota State, Wisconsin, Colorado College and last weekend against Alaska Anchorage leaving their record at a sub par 4-6 overall but are still right in the middle of the pack in the WCHA with a 4-4 conference record.
Getting back on track
The women's team has lived and died by the power play this season.
The Sioux women's hockey team hopes to get back on track after a difficult pair of losses at the hand of WCHA-leading Wisconsin last weekend.
The problem is, the team that stands in their way is defending a national title.
The Sioux women, just like the men's hockey team, will travel to Duluth this weekend to face the Bulldogs, who are 6-4-2 overall, 4-4-2 in the WCHA.
