A year in review and some in the making

The 2007-2008 athletic term brought with it several accomplishments and spectacles made by UND sports on both the men's and women's side. Although several seasons are still in session and working towards excellence, here is a recap of this seasons athletic endeavors.

Sports Sidelines

Softball: Hanson breaks record, Sioux defeat Valley City
Junior center fielder Casie Hanson hit a pair of home runs to become UND's all-time leader and lift the Sioux to an 18-8 victory over Valley City State Thursday at the VCSU Sports Complex. Game two of the doubleheader was canceled due to poor weather. Hanson, who also drove in a career-high six runs, now has 22 career round-trippers, breaking Jennifer Soderquist's (2000-03) previous school record of 20.

Men and women take to Drake/Kip Janvrin

The Sioux track and field teams traveled to Iowa this weekend for Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open. Women Several Sioux women took to Indianola, Iowa for the Kip Janvrin Open where upper classmen and field events captured the top places for the team.
